WANTED !!!!

Campus Ministry is a powerful instrument for moulding generations,to prepare today’s youngsters to become Missionaries of tomorrow. My 7 years in college was like seven holistic years of formation in a“Faith Formation Centre”. I was taught, trained and exposed to anin-house training on how to look at Catholic Spirituality in the context of Contemporary World through the campus prayer meetings. All this led me to a deeper conviction that Jesus has a powerful plan and higher thought about University Campuses, and it happened after seeing with my own eyes the changed lives ofhundreds of young people!

Like me, many people had a dream ‘to win the campus today and to change the world tomorrow’. Ultimately to win people forChrist, build them in Catholic faith train them in building up aministry and send them to reach out to others.’ Let nothing stop thisdream and may it unfold, get visualized through the youth groupsand become a life-giving experience!

Few decades back, when Jesus Youth campus prayer groups started growing in different parts of Kerala, no one dared to think about aOne Year Full Time Commitment for the Lord. Our dreams weresmaller, which the Lord made bigger. He gave us the wings to flyand to move out to youngsters in various parts of not only India, butover 25 Countries! So when you speak or share about Jesus to a youngster in a Campus, it has much and more greater impacttoday.

My thoughts”, says the Lord, “are not like yours, and My ways are different from yours. As high as the heavens are above the earth, so high are My ways and thoughts above yours.” (Isaiah 55:8 -9). I do believe that the National Campus Meet 2009 is an opportunity to listen to GOD’s voice and to understand His thoughts and follow His ways.

Running the race with you all!

From National Campus Meet '99

"The National Campus Meet ‘99 was truly a remarkable experience in my life. Over a thousand young people from around the country, dynamic sessions, visuals, the Rex Band....3 days that truly introduced to me the love of Jesus in way like I had never known before. It was this Campus Meet, 10 years ago, that changed my life into an entirely new direction. It was this event that led me to commit my life in a dynamic way to the Lord that has continued through these years. I thank the Lord for all the people behind it, and also for giving me the grace to be a part of it....the fruits of which I am enjoying both in my spiritual walk and my personal growth even today. I hope youngsters today take up challenges like these to help them to witness to their peers in a powerful and relevant expressions so more youngsters come to know of the love of Jesus".

Campus Meet is a Jesus Youth initiative to reach out among the campus students and an opportunity for students to encounter the Lord. Each Campus Meet is a venue of celebration where the youth from various campuses come together to experience and celebrate the true meaning of life. The program is designed to speak the message of love and life in the language of the today’s youth. Campus meets are organized in zonal/regional and national level. In Jesus Youth, Campus Meets were started in 1988 with 1500 participants. After that, more than 100 campus meets have happened in various parts of the country. In 1999, the first National campus meet was organized at Bangalore with over 1000 students from all over India.

The Campus Meets adopt a unique style of reaching out to Campus Youth in a way pleasing to them. Each campus meet has its own core theme, and rest of the content is developed based on the core theme.
