If you are a man....!

"If you are a man,drink this!I was told by a gang of students in my college.Another guy with a cigarette in hand came to me and puffed smoke in circles and said the same. I shouted back "If you are a man come to the prayer meeting every week...anyone can smoke or drink but it takes courage to stand in faith and go for the prayer meeting!"

Day 1 session 1 'Jesus as Companion' saw the International coordinator George Devassy sharing his journey with Jesus with the more than 650 young people from different parts of India.

Earlier in the day His excellency Archbishop Abraham Viruthukulangara(Nagpur) and Archbishop Marumpadi Joji(Hyderabad) inaugurated the National Campus meet by lighting the lamp.

During the Holy Mass at 3pm, Archibishop Abraham stressed on the importance of love that is present in Jesus and especially on the need to love the poor and less privileged of the society.

After Mass, the entire participants were divided into 17grps with group leaders & resource leaders for each group. They discuss the session of the day and also a workshop based on the same topic.There is also opportunity to ask and clarify any questions.

Post tea break the audio visual misnitry presented a beautiful skit on Jesus as Companion which was followed by Adoration led by Mr.Rodney Periera (JY India team member).

The day ended with dinner and participants went to bed with lot of expectations for the next day!

Registration stands close

The stage is all set for National Campus Meet. The preparations will conclude with the training for Audio visual ministry and follow up leaders which will start from 24th Dec evening.Audio Visual training is from 24th-26th Dec whereas follow up leaders training is from 25th Dec (5pm)-27th Dec (8am).
Now the registrations stands close and we have got 745 registrations from all over India. Our guests of honor will be, His grace Marampudiyil Joji, Archbishop of Hyderabad, His grace Abraham Viruthukulangara, Archbishop of Nagpur and Ecclesiastical advisor of Jesus Youth India and His grace Thomas Menamparambil Archbishop of Guwahati and CBCI Education Commission Chairman, Fr. Joseph Puthenpura, Secratory, Xavier board of Higher Enducation, India. Mr. George Devassy(JY international coordinator), Mr. Dony Peter(JY international team member), Mr. Siljo Thomas(JY national coordinator), Mr. Elvis Kotturan, Mr. Adolf Godwyn, Mr. Jose Sebastian(JY national team member) will be handling the main sessions. The dates for all the resources were blocked and their tickets have been booked.The exclusive musical album- Campus Vibes, which is to be released during the program, is being recorded in the Rex Band studio, Cochin. Teachers gathering also will be there parallel to the program. Mr.Dr.Chackochan Njavallil, Prof.CC Alicekutty, will be helping us for the teachers program.Program Team, Decoration team and Some of North East Participants already started their journey to Hyderabad. Today onwards venue will be opened exclusively for us for the preparations and accomodations

A new music album is getting ready for the campuses. Recording of this album will be at Ernakulam this weekend. The album will be loanched during the National Campus Meet at Hyderabad.

Volunteers Training

The volunteers training for National Campus Meet is happening in St. Alphonsus School, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. We are altogether around 40 people are here including Sr.Alphonsus (Animator, Hyderabad Service Team), Mr. Adolf (Elder, Hyderabad Service Team), Mr.Shibu (Elder, Andhra Pradesh Core Team). More will be joining Today. We had gone through the book of Judith. Learning the core values which is for good leadership through sharing, skits, symbolic imitations, Sessions,...Israelite Lunch got over and now praying and worshiping God as Israelites prayed.
